Head of the Institute – Svetlana Vasilyevna Dikhtyar, MBA, Vice-president of AMFORTH.

The main aim of the Institute is the comprehensive training of highly skilled specialists, creative, socially responsible professionals capable of working in a creative atmosphere.

The Institute gives the students not only excellent professional skills but also a serious background in foreign languages. Graduates speak at least two foreign

languages: English and (electively) Spanish, German, Italian or French. Each year leading Russian and foreign hospitality industry experts hold master

classes, seminars and practical training sessions.

After classes students are involved in a variety of activities. There is a drama studio, choir, theatre and such clubs as «The Visit to IHBT», «Deliberate Choice» and the Foreign Students Club.

 Since 2002, more than 300 specialists in the sphere of service and tourism have graduated from IHBT. About 25% of them graduated from the evening department. 60 students of the Institute graduated with honors, 90 people got the certificate of interpreter in English. More than 30 foreign students from 14 countries have graduated from the Institute (Vietnam, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Lebanon, Oman, Ukraine).

The Institute is a member of the International association on training personnel for the hospitality business and tourism (AMFORHT) and the European Schools of the Hospitality business and Public Catering Association (EURHODIP). In 2003, according to the EURODIP rating, IHBT became the best hospitality school in Europe. In 2007 (the year of its 10th anniversary), PFUR IHBT won the VIII All-Russian competition «The 1000 best enterprises and organizations of Russia».
